New Years!

Well, we have almost made it to a new year!  I hope everyone had a safe and gluten free holiday!
I am very thankful for all the time I was able to spend with friends and family.  I am also extremely thankful for the break away from work.  It is such a joy to be able to have days to just be with the family and not worry about other obligations.  Around the holiday, I also enjoy memories of lost loved ones.  If you have lost someone close to you then, you understand how each wonderful event in your life is now bittersweet.  Events are always a joyous occasion that also have a sadness to them because you wish that your loved one was with you.  And, you often are filled with memories of what that lost loved one would have brought to that occasion.
As the new year approaches, I hope for the usual...good health for the family.  But, I also hope that I can continue to provide a resource for those individuals who struggle with the need to have specialized products.  My partner and I, at No Gluten Natural Girl Products, have dedicated ourselves to our small company.  We seek to provide quality products at lower costs.  But, more importantly we seek to provided Gluten free and natural products.  We are always working hard to help out our costumers with whatever personal needs they may have.  We do our best to offer not only gluten free products but also Vegan friendly products and allergy free products.  It is very important to us that the products we offer are tried and true.  So, as the new year approaches I wish everyone a healthy and happy new year and I hope that No Gluten Natural Girl Products can continue to help make people's lives a little healthier and happier!

Happy New Years!

Going Gluten Free, What Does That Mean?

If you have Celiac Disease, Going Gluten-Free is essential to your health.
But, being on a gluten free diet is not one of the healthier diets out there.
In addition to this, a gluten free diet is not easy to follow.
For some people, a gluten free diet can have nutritional drawbacks.

So, who really needs to go on a gluten-free diet?
People with celiac disease, an autoimmune disease in which an individual can not tolerate
gluten (a protein in wheat, rye, and barley).  Also, people with a gluten sensitivity need to go
on this diet too.

Why do these people need to go on this diet?
Well, people with celiac disease who eat gluten will damage the lining of their small intestine.
Eating gluten causes the lining of the small intestine to become inflamed and damaged, if you
have celiac disease.  Some of the symptoms that individuals with celiacs may suffer are diarrhea,
upset stomach, bloating, and abdominal pain.  In some cases, people with severe celiac disease
have other symptoms such as: skin rashes, loss of hair, and itchy skin.

How do you know if you have Celiac disease?
Celiac disease is often misdiagnosed for years.  It can often be mistaken for irritable bowel syndrome.
Often, individuals will suffer from chronic poor heath.  While these individuals are being misdiagnosed,
their lining of their small intestine is being damaged.  This often causes other problems.  Many times the
lining will not allow for certain necessary things to be absorbed into the system (for example: poor calcium absorption).  Your doctor can do a blood test and/or an intestinal biopsy that will show damage to the villi, to find out if you have Celiac disease.  Doctors will need to rely on the patients past experiences and side effects to gluten to say weather or not the patient has a gluten sensitivity.

What has gluten in it?
Gluten shows up in lots of things.  The most obvious is breads and pastas.  But, it can be found in
other things such as crackers, cookies, cold cut meats, salad dressings, ketchups, soy, beer, licorice, lip stick, toothpaste, lotions, shampoos, bubble wrap, and glue (to name a few).

The gluten debate.
Many people say that if you have Celiac disease you only have to worry about gluten in the items
that you put into your body, not onto it.  However, many individuals who have a severe reaction to
gluten have reported that this is not so.  There is a large population of celia patients that report needing
to go 100% gluten free in their life.  This includes what goes on their bodies.  Some patients reported hair loss, rashes, and skin itching/irritations.   After using gluten free products, these individuals reported that
their hair grew back, skin cleared up, and itching stopped.  The debate seems to continue, so the best
answer is to do what works for you.

Best Gluten Lifestyle Tips:
*Watch for hidden gluten in foods.
*Know that foods can be cross contaminated if they are manufactured in a facility that makes
  other items that contain gluten.
*Know that gluten free foods often try to "mimic" the gluten counterparts and this causes these
gluten free items to be high in carbohydrates, fat, and sodium.  They also lack the fiber and/or
  protein that you need.
*Look for products that are certified as being uncontaminated and gluten-free.
*Play it safe and go natural.  Eat more fruits and vegetables (many try the raw diet).
*Know what you are putting in your body and on your body.
*Stay away from frozen and processed foods (if you use them check the additives that most likely
  will contain gluten).
*When going out to eat, don't be shy, speak up.
*Learn to read labels and know the hidden culprits (such as malt and hydrolyzed vegetable protein,
  to name a few).
*Watch items that contain oats.

HoneyBee Gardens – Water Colors Non-Peel Off Polish:
       Ingredients:  water, water-miscible acrylic, polyurethane
formers and thickeners, non-ionic soaps. May contain: ultramarine blue, carmine, mica, iron oxides, and/or titanium dioxide.
About the product:
Made to give people an alternative to
solvent-based nail enamels. This product is free from harsh chemical odors and fumes.  This earth-friendly formula is long wearing and comes in a variety of colors. This product does not contain FD&C colors, toluene, dibutyl phthalate, xylene, or formaldehyde.
Color information:  You may notice that the clear base/top
coat polishes actually appear to be milky white in the bottle.  This milky appearance will disappear once drying and will form a clear coat.  Shaker beads are inside, so a small shake will re-disperse the polish pigment.

gluten free LIPS!

Kiss the Gluten Away with
NO GLUTEN NATURAL GIRL PRODUCTS!

NG has a wonderful line of lip products!  Feedback on all our lip products is always very positive.

Just recently I ran into one of our customers.  She was so excited to see me and tell me about how wonderful one of our products was.  She has given me permission to share this information with you:

This lovely woman had gone on a water sport, summer vacation with her family.  She had a wonderful time but during her trip her lips got sunburned and damaged.  She went out and bought one of the most popular lip care brands (which I will not name).  This product promised to heal her sun chapped lips and keep them safe.  It was also stated to be water proof and long lasting.  After a miserable day with no change she dug around in her purse and realized she had her NG lip balm.  She put it on and she said her lips felt better in an hour.  By the end of the day she was doing great and her family used our SPF lip balm the rest of the trip.

Sometimes you need to set aside those big brands and just give the little guys a chance.
So kiss the gluten away and keep your lips happy at the same time.

Your lips will thank you!

Does your child need to wear make-up?

Do you have a child who participates in activities that require them to wear make-up?  This can be difficult for a parent to deal with.  We want our children to remain looking natural and stay looking their age.  Yet, they still are required to wear make-up.  If your child is an actress/actor, dancer, cheerleader, or model they may be required to wear make-up. Well, you can give them a light and natural look with make-up that is gluten free, vegan, natural, and safe.  Check it out these pictures of my daughter doing activities that require her to wear make-up.  She is wearing gluten free and natural make-up from our site,  www.NoGlutenNaturalGirlProducts.com:

modeling

 cheerleading

acting

dance

Just to feel special,
Both of us are wearing the make-up for a special event!

So, if your child is involved in activities that require them to wear make-up, let them smile away and feel special with our gluten free, natural, and safe make-up products.
